The Vermilion Bird Clan's Little Baby Snake

The only baby snake born into an Imperial Family where only dragon beast-kin are ever produced.
Unable to form a dragon pearl and failing to properly wield any supernatural abilities, she was nothing more than a defective half-breed.
“What will you do? Will you be exiled to the south and die? Or will you remain here in the Imperial Court and work for your father?”
Even so, Baeksa (White Snake) was fine with it.
Because her merciful father had granted her one final chance.
However, as time passed, her small, white body began to stain pitch black.
The exact moment Baeksa became a completely useless baby snake who could no longer use her abilities at all.
“Get rid of her.”
Without a single moment of hesitation, the Emperor discarded Baeksa.
As if it had been decided that way from the very beginning.
A baby snake who returns to the past while still retaining the memories of being abandoned.
Yet, there isn't much a seven-year-old girl can do.
Her only choices are to be abandoned a year from now, or to be cast aside right this second.
Loathing the thought of being used all over again, she reaches the exact moment of her abandonment once more.
“Please... save me...”
In the middle of the snowfields, Baeksa meets a man with incredibly warm hands.
Those hands felt just like a small lantern keeping her warm.
“You asked me to save you, so I have kept you alive.”
The one who rescued the baby snake was Ju Jeok-seo, the Lord of the Vermilion Bird Family and ruler of the cursed Southern Lands.
He brought Baeksa back, carefully treated her wounds, and gave her warm clothes and a bed to sleep in.
But knowing she couldn't impose on their kindness forever, she resolved to leave this place the moment she grew just a little bit bigger and could find a job of her own.
That was her plan, and yet...
“No matter what anyone else says, you are a member of our family now.”
Whispered her sweet, affectionate younger adoptive brother.
“It's strange. You’ve become far too important to me. I never intended to cherish anyone else this much.”
Said her slightly intimidating, yet kind and gentle older adoptive brother.
“You may stay for as long as you wish. If you want to stay for the rest of your life, then do so.”
And finally, the Lord of the Vermilion Bird Family himself, whose hands remained as warm as ever.
Is it really okay for me to stay here just a little while longer...?
A pure white lotus blooming from the mud.
The tale of the tiny baby snake, Baeksa.
